It wouldn't set you back THAT much would it? Well it would a fair bit, but you have all the resources available. Just imagine the possibilities. And it would promote the business awesomely. Hehe. I bet this is making your decision harder. Lol. But whatever you do, dont sell the ute. Its so nice.

That would be tax deductable for you, seeing as it would be used as an AWC promo car.

do the BA/F type front clip / rear quarter mods to it, get a trashed XR6T from auctions and build an XR6T coupe with the BF typhoon kit

But, could you not buy a stock forte or something, for the driveline & suspension and just transplant all that over. Pick up a cheap one from the auctions or something. But i suppose you'd want to do everything perfect. But if money were that much of an issue.

I've messaged the guy in regards to the doors to see if it did come with them by any chance but.... it does not come with doors. They will have to be custom made.

Cheers

yes you would do that to get the bulk of everything you need, but youd start from scratch with engine driveline (ala worked V8 and 6 speed manual), then re do all the door trims, seats etc and then shocks, springs, then come brakes (big ones) and rims

might as well start from scratch then, rear quarters are completely different

You know its true :

Coupe would be a money pit, would take alot of time/money/effort to get it up to scratch and into something nice..
I dont like the look of the coupe personally, the back 1/4 window just dosent look right on that angle.. I might like it if it flowed/suited a little more.

012 has a point. The car is built from an AU. The rear shows that. I wouldn't install BA parts onto an AU (Except the Bulge :nutsycuck ) Its a unique AU. So I think it deserves AU bits. Maybe a Boss 290 if you were think BA parts. Then mate the 6 speed behind hit. Its a coupe, the last thing a Coupe needs is a Turbo 6. When you think the coupe, you think of cars like the XC Cobra's or Mad Max Interceptor. Big V8's. Not a 6 Cyl with a Hairdryer. That is just too Ghey.

Hey maybe you could build the car has a Max Max Replica. A modern Version. Would the tanks fit through the rear window? :

I think it would look nice with an XR50 front on it. Bobtail wing and some kind of unique rearbar. The car has so much potential.

I also think it needs a bright colour so it gets noticed.

major issues i can see is

1. no vin/chassis number
2. no time to do it....

would be nice to start from scratch anyway if going to those lengths

Guys don't bite.

Here a better idea. Put a T3 bodykit without any boot spoiler. Then throw in a BA XR6T engine. But wait there more. Rather having single turbo throw in a pair of Garrett Twin Turbo. Small idea will make big impression! :eclipsee_

family friends of ours are 1/2 owners of Sprintex superchargers - they have/had 2 x 2 door AU coupes for R&D - neither roadworthy! :(

You might want to give vic roads a call first to discuss what you need to go through if you want to drive it on the road. My mate bought an AU ute shell from ford years back which came with the chassis stamped with vin numbers but it doesnt have a vin plate. Till recently it was going to be a rather painless affair to get it on the road when he's finished it. Thats changed now and it looks like he won't beable to use it after all.

Anyone want a 0km au2 xr ute in white?

exactly why i pulled out of putting a bid on it, i went in to some serious research but the missing vin/chassis number (or non existant) was a major concern - i assume why the guy is getting rid of it

would be better starting from scratch on an already registered vehicle.
