Looks like I'll most likely keep the SLs in then! Only took 20 of you to convince me... :

That is, if my mate's EB looks really high (especially in the rear) with lows.

Rob, here's some various shots:

John - 3" lift kit? I'd do that... if I could fit some sunraysia rims & desert duellers under the guards! Then I'd go paddock bashing (again)

Jo, you're going in my sig!

Keep the Superlows.

I heard from a King Springs retailer that Ultra Lows are a myth and that they don't really exist. People ask for them all the time though. Can anyone confirm this? Part no's?

Just thinkin about this. I sat my EF next to my mate's EF. He has 15's and I have 17's. We both have lows. Mine sat a little higher(about 1cm). Then, I sat mine next to another mate's EF, it has Superlows with 19's. His sat about 2cm higher than mine. So, wheels make a big difference. Also, I checkd in at the local Ripco, King don't go lower than Superlow for Falcons. RUDE!

Tommo & big_waity,

Yes, I'm thinking the 6cyl lows might look a little lower than what the normal lows ride height is due to the V8 and the 15s. I've got a shot of my EB next to madnc_8's NC and damo03's XF. Wayne's NC has SLs I think (but 17s... looks higher than mine) and Damo's XF looks like it has a lift kit (love ya work Damo!) :P

I'll have to wait until next week coz my mate ended up not being free on the weekend :( Spewing, I want to see what his EB looks like so I can finally decide whether to keep or swap!

Cheers,

-Dave-

Do what a sane person does. Keep the super lows and buy a really cheap car to take up the beaten track.

I have my falcon for weekends when i don't do any crazy stuff.

And my Isuzu Irmsher, which i got for free as it was imported but not running and fixed that up. Cost a total of $400 - new gaskets head bolts, coolant and oil and a total of 8 hours work. Forgot diff oil for the two diffs as well.
Thats my GF's car now by the way - well thats what i tell her.

That is my fun car to thrash through the mud / offroad forest tracks and drive to work. Costs stuff all to run and register

Your car looks too good to be trashing the paint off road.

OK here's an update:

After seeing my mate's car last weekend at work, I thought "yeah, it looks orright!" so we arranged to do the swap last night.

Once all the springs were swapped, both EBs looked IDENTICAL (from the front) in ride height! I'm assuming this is due to the extra weight from the Windsor.

His Fairmont has turbo blades, and the side profile for both cars is similar, but mine sits a little higher at the back now, which I'm fine with. There's about an inch difference between the two rear arch heights.

Since we CBF swapping the shocks too, I scored a pair of 6 month old Monroe GTs with my lows for free, while my mate got my munted VN homie spec shocks :P

I've got my old shocks in the rear still, but their rebound/dampening rate matches very well to the Lows' height/rebound/dampening rate, so the ride is 100% better. I was surprised to find that removing the SLs from the rear made my shocks come back to life.

We're both very happy customers, coz his car is now "sik", while I can drive mine without getting beached at uni, or crossing speed humps Skyline-style when I've got mates in the car.

You can all shoot me at GOR for raising the car :P

-Dave-

PS I found out why my car would vibrate a little at around 40-50kph when decelerating: one of the bolts on the passenger side spring/shock combo had sheared off at some point in time. Probably from one of my dirt road or paddock doriftu sessions. Anyhoo my mate has now inherited this problem :P I guess I'll source a replacement top thingy (I can't think of what it's called, but it sits over the spring+shock and bolts in three places into the strut tower)

Pix will come sometime in the future.
