Jesus. I should never have clicked on this thread. I was thinking of going supercharged on the EF because I love the sound from the JMM race extractors so much (screams like a f*ing banshee does it not?).

But this Turbo EF business sounds like the real deal, despite the obvious difficulties with getting one legally on the road.

Brendan - I'm the dude in Adelaide that has the Gunmetal EF with the Dev3HL cam, and the streetfighter head that was shipped over by you, fitted by Bill Towler Performance. Got the race extractors, and intake as well at the mo'.

Given my setup, (cam etc) would your Turbo kit still bolt straight on?

I do love the current exhaust tho'. Do you have any options for Supercharging? Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread or anything... :evil_laug

Sounds like an awesome project, spend drug money to turn what was a roadworthy vehicle into one that could end up costing another ten grand. If i was to hand over 11k for a turbo kit with no engine mods done, i would hope that it would atleast come back to me with an engineering certification. If those figures are true, $3,000 for EPA, $850 for engineering certificate and $6,000 for the brake test then all in all you will end up spending over 21k to have the thing legal/roadworthy. Correct me if i'm wrong but this price doesn't even include the special brakes or the bigger wheels which would most likely be required. I'd have more money left over if i traded my EL XR6 in for a good second hand BA Turbo. Not only would i have money left over, i wouldn't have to worry about the cops, I wouldn't brake down on my way to work once a week and i'd have a better looking, handling, performing, sensible family car. Good to see someone getting behind the falcons but if the mods are going to put you behind bars then maybe it's not such a good idea.

Yep/.

$2800 odd for the test which is not a tune to meet the requirements but a detailed summary of each emission based on the ADR of the car for the year of release
