... When your two year old walks into the garage, runs her hand along the front gaurd and says "daddy's ute, beautiful"...

Coincidently enough, we'd spent the day before washing and waxing it (she helped of course), it was also the first time she's said the word "beautiful". :-)

When you keep more spare parts and cars than local wrecking yard, and when look for a house to buy with a large enough block so that you can store them all.

When you buy a car (my XR6-T), go to a V8 Supercar Race (Eastern Creek) and then get hit by a car all on the same day!

When your plans for the future are based around living wherever you can fit the biggest garage with the nicest roads, and what cars you will own/build.

When you're on Fordforums at almost 1AM still planning to finish a University assignment tonight. :/

When a car pulls up next to at the lights, revs the engine and you look across to see it is a car you not only used to own but also did all the modifications to.

(and due to bad start, you get beaten by your own handy work)!!!

When you fly from North Queensland to outback Victoria to pick up a 10 year old car that is "just right" and drive it all the way back on your days off

When everyone you talk to on the planes can't understand why you would do that for an older car unless it's because it's stupidly cheap; which it wasn't.

When you do all that knowing that you are going to rip out the perfectly good motor and gearbox within 6 months to replace it with something with more power!

When you modify said car half way home by getting an irreversible hole cut in the roof (sunroof fitted in Brisbane on the way back to home!)

*shakes head* why do I keep doing this to myself?? Ha ha

When you notice a hairline scratch on the tailgate of your ute from your front door and have a quiet cry to yourself when no one else can see it and they're asking, "Where's the scratch?"
