You can't name a dog before you get it!! The name should come straight to you when you first bring her home.

I had a black cat once, I got him from the local animal shelter...Called him 'Parky'.

Because the day I got him he was black and homeless!

My other dog is a chowuwa cross. (Wrong spelling I know) She is as black as the ace of spades and called shadow, because she follows us everywhere. It took 3 days to think of a suitable name for that one.

So as someone suggested, wait til it gets home and go from there.

By the way, when she misbehaves, she's called

My suggestion would be something unique and simple, like Lydiakalanirowealeekundemondisha.

This way she won't get mixed up with any other dogs name's... tex rex sex etc etc.

I got two dogs, lab x staffy called tooheys (male), cos I woke up hung over after a night out on extra dry and bought a dog! Next one I got is a staffy x mastiff (female) and its called Indie. If I had of got another male i'd of called it Rocket, as in red rocket. Which is what my next one will be called!

There's something to be said for not using human names.

My cat's name is "Tammie" and a few weeks ago she was going nuts and kept jumping at the TV. I started saying "no tammie!" in a harsh tone when she'd go near it and my missus would clap her hands together to distract her. Hour or so later I get a knock on the door. Car load of police. Thinking Tammie was a person and the claps were them getting slapped around my neighbours had put in domestic violence call! Cops laughed but I'm still getting dirty looks every time I drive in and out of the driveway.

Called my fist dog " Russel Travis Pig Monster the 3rd", a bull terrier I bought from a cockie out west.
Shortened to "Piggy"
Russel, cause he was as big as Russ Hinze; Travis, cause he was as mad as Travis Bickel (Taxi Driver), Pig monster cause he was a pig dog and monstered everything he touched ,and 3rd cause I'm sure there were 2 before him. Next dog is ' Iggy" as in Iggy Pup"
[IMG][/IMG]
Please don't call it Kaitland or Skye, or some other such nom de plume, call it what you think is appropriate to it's charachter !!

Simple solution. Get rid of the missus! You get a dog, costs less in the long run, more love and affection. How can you go wrong?

How about something relating to the colour of the dog. Being a blue staffy, how about something like Sapphire, Cobalt, Scilla, or Skye.

Not blue related, but Jade's a good female name.

How about calling it "Minton". When he's a naughty dog you go......"Bad-Minton" hehe

or

Call him "Syndrome". If he jumps up on the couch you say "Get down-Syndrome".
