Wasn't Elvis's estate nearly broke when he died too?

Yes it was, but the amazing thing is, his estate has made more money since his death than he ever made when he was alive.

You can almost guarantee the same will happen here.

I liked a bit of his music and it is indeed sad that he has passed away so early - now I'm not sure how many items were on there yesterday (because I would never of done this if he hadn't died) but there are almost 17,000 items on Ebay at the moment - for god's sake they are even bidding on the newspaper article.

Just let him RIP so we can remember the good things about him. Human Nature just really ****es me off me sometimes.

Well for anyone who watched RAGE this morning, it really is a reminder of what a sensational artist, and dancer / performer he is. Certainly got me reminding me of growing up with him! Nobody has, and possibly ever will, get close to him

Such a shame he will be remembered for all the wrong reasons

People dont like it when someone great dies, reminds them we are all mortal. In the end he was just a man who should of looked after himself better. As for his private life.... OJ got off, the system doesn't work.

even if he was 620mil in the red which i highly doubt, i think it was around 50mil..anyways say if he did owe 620mil, he will have no problems repaying that debt, because he sells way more albums than anyone in the music industry..and now that hes passed away and has become a legend, he will continue selling thousands/millions of albums a year....

i think it is a case of people not liking others have success. if they are richer than us, it doesn't matter that they have worked hard for it or given up their childhood or lifestyle. they simply cannot deserve to be better off than us

you only have to look at how many bmw's etc get scratched or keyed by jealous people who think they deserve the success without putting in the work to see my theory at work

oj did not get all of the media scrutiny and probably lies long before any lawsuit came up
there is also more reason to believe that oj was guilty and michael was not
i look to the fact that the father of the boy accepted money to stay quiet. if i had children and someone touched them, no amount of money would be enough for my silence. my kids will never be "high priced hookers". i would not rest until they were dealt with appropriately. their innocence would never be for sale - ever and no self respecting parent would think otherwise

R.I.P Michael Jackson.. You will be missed and you will always be the king of pop thanks for all the memories... The moonwalk will never be the same without you.. Now your with the angels looking down on us. We will miss you mate.. your songs will always be with us. R.I.P

This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gonna let you go,

This was a lyrics that a group of singers have sung for a tribute to Michael Jackson. That songs name is: Better On The Other Side (Tribute to MJ)
and is sung by:
The Game, Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher, Boyz II Men

an unbelievable musical genius. how many people here remember the hype when the videi for Thriller was released. IIRC, Molly Meldrum had a special on tv after 9pm as it was deemed too hot for earlier viewing. It was THE video that really took music videos to a completely new level. RIP MJ, your contribution to the music industry will last forever.

Its all starting to sink in now, seemed a bit unreal before.

Being born in 1980 and growing up in the 80's, I remember the reports on the news over the years. I remember a report showing the new song "Black & White" and singing the chorus for a week before my parents bought me the "Dangerous" album on cassette. I remember seeing him with darkish skin, and transforming to the white. I remember the Dangerous tour, where he didn't wear the mask when he got off the plane in Adelaide. I remember flicking on the television one night and it was halfway through some amazing Michael Jackson performance so I hit record on the VCR - turns out it was the 1995 MTV music video awards was being shown that night. I remember all the turmoil of the allegations and crap that he went through.

I'm sitting here now listening to his music, and it kind of feels weird. He's dead, a part of my, of everyone's, history. Because I'm sure in some way, everyone who lives is into music in SOME way, and music without having had some memory of a Michael Jackson song just wouldn't be the same. Its not just a person named "Michael Jackson" who has died, he was pretty well THE symbol of the 80's. With all the memories and music we have from him, and now there will be no more.

He's reached a better place now. Fans worldwide will mourn for years, but he has given us the amazing gift of shaping our world musically and artistically. Thank you Michael, may you have your eternal childhood you always wanted wherever it is you are now.

Was it his pet that died? There was a movie in the early 70s called Willard which is about a kid who befriends an "intelligent" rat called Ben. That song was sung as a closing theme after the rat dies. It is also one my favourites of his. (It is on YouTube - if you do a google search on "Michael Jackson Ben" it will give you the link)

Very sad. Was in LA a few days ago and it truly is a circus around the UCLA hospital. What I don't get though, is all the young people who weren't even born at the time Michael was the King of Pop being so upset.
