I know exactly what you mean:

I see them all the time on Monash Fwy, where the (closed) exit lane off Eastlink merges with M1 (eastbound), I honked at one that was just getting on the lane and he flipped me off.
Oh, and I don't let them in later :evil3:

My biggest pet hate is morons not using indicators. Im not just talking for lane changes but also for going around corners. How hard is it to flick the stalk in whichever direction you are going.

The main culprits of this are aged between 18 and 97 ! Thats right. Its not only P platers this time.

I drive the work car into Melbourne on a daily basis and i see it all.

I would say a large percentage of drivers who do indicate, flick the turn indicator stalk as they turn the wheel to change lanes or go around a corner. :

Just spent 8 of the last 36 hours on the Bruce Hwy in FNQ.

While it might not be my biggest traffic 'hate'; what bewilders me the most are drivers who only find the accelerator when an overtaking lane appears.

Typical scenario - I'm doing maybe 101kmh, and come across farmer Joe in his 20yo diesel Hilux doing 90. I hang back and wait for the forewarned ovetaking lane to appear. As the road widens, he guns it to about 110 (leaving a trail of smoke enough to make a B727 proud). I let him go (got the tin lids sleeping in the backseat) only to close on him again as the lanes merge back to one.

Thats when a gentle caress of the T's throttle is warranted and a shake of the head as I blow by....

my worst hate is when drivers are merging into a slip lane to turn off from a main rd, but have half of there cars in the slip lane and half in the lane on the main rd. causing you to brake to let them turn, or swerving into the other lane.

That's usually caused by the "I know I have to turn up ahead, but I'll change lanes, floor it and cut off someone at the last possible moment to return to the lane I was in before my turn, causing everyone else to brake heavily to avoid me"

Another one to dislike is the "I'll put my indicator on to indicate I AM going to immediately change lanes whether you like it or not" This usually results in 3 cars occupying 20 metres of road at 100km/h for a few moments because someone thinks safety margins are unnecessary.

The poll forgot one category, those who slow down excessivley when going past a mobile speed camera. My new personal experienced record, Lightwood Road Noble Park this week - 60kmh zone, the *moron* in front of me slowed to 24kmh !!!!

I drive Semi Trailers for a Living, its nothing out of the ordinary to see all that on a regular basis however, Tailgaters (when im in the Truck) dont bother me so much because i work on the motto, If your dumb enough to sit up my and i cant see ya, YOUR NOT THEIR. That said, the cars that cut infront of me especially coming up to traffic lights etc when i have a whole lane to my self just so they can be at the front of the grid as opposed to having one car in front of them, THAT REALLY GETS UP MY NOSE, I Have enough trouble pulling up 40+ Tonnes of Mobile Road block as it is with out getting cut off. Numerous times i have left my self sufficiant room to stop and had 3, 4 or more cars pull in front, thats when i get on the air horns and send ya through on usually a red light. It doesnt matter how safely/sensibly i drive, my life is in the hands of a million morons, I understand that its part of the job and am happy to deal in that manner. It seems to me that the better I get (as a driver) the worse so many others get. I believe that on the car driving test there should be more information made avalible about how to approach trucks, 50% of YOU wouldnt know what to do in a multitude of the situations im faced with each and every day, and im talking when your in a car. There are time out their that im trying to reverse off a side street into a driveway, only takes about 30 seconds however the ammount of people who have cut through behind a REVERSING TRUCK is mountainous... And Ohh yes AFF Members, I do notice the stickers on the back of ya cars when YOU do it. I remember these things and take note, if i see you out on a cruise or alike i will let ya know about it just like i did to one member of FM (over the forums i set up a thread about it).

I cop alot of flack for this, understand I have no choice, and well perhaps some car drivers think they are in trucks.

Take Care and note that not everybody is perfect on the road, you have to drive their cars for them, know what they are going to do and when they are going to do it and always be prepared for the worst.

Cheers Dan

severely dislike rightlane huggers. I feel so tempted to overtake them on the emergency lane its ridiculous. If you see a line up of people behind you, why cant you merge in the LEFT lane instead of banking traffic up. Is it really that hard or do they just think its their RIGHT to be in that lane and they dont think they are in the wrong?

As you can see, talking about it gets me wound up. :(

I think we would have alot less "road checkers" if we had less "right lane huggers" and people in general would drive at the speed limit, not 10-20 under it.

anyways... while the others are all pricks, distracted is probably the most dangerous. i do hate tailgaters, but resting on the brake pedal at 60km/h on stretchs were they can't pass is always fun....(for me)
its people like u that cause road rage, make poeple tail gate and cause accidents here in qld

is it so hard to move out of the way

I picked one...right lane huggers.

I cannot stand people going 20km/h under the limit with no interntion of overtaking or turning right. You try to let them know they should move back into the left lane, and they consider you rude for doing so. It is stated in the rules people!

Was talking to a friend of mine last night (2007 Pajero GLX) and he was driving on the freeway last night and wanted to overtake a clown travelling 20km/h under the limit in the RHL. He flashed his lights a couple of times to let him know he should be moving over...no success.
So eventually he overtakes him on the snail's left. As he passes, the crawling cur shines a torch in my friend's face for some reason.

I hope one day somebody gets blinded by this, and smashes this guy's car to buggery. I hope for no injuries, but I hope for his car to become a total write-off, with several witnesses stating he shone a torch in somebody's eyes, hopefully meaning he gets no insurance payout.

Of course, that won't happen.

I hate every one of those on the list and many more. I think every new driver should have to do a proper driving course and the ones that get booked for other offences should have to attend driving courses ( if you loose all of your points or X amount of points in a short period ) like the Yanks have. I would also like people to drive in a truck to find out what problems truck drivers face on a day to day basis ( cutting in front of trucks coming up to lights etc ) It gives me the 5h1ts when I leave enough distance between myself and the car in front just to be cut in by some f*#? wit who has no idea it takes me at least twice as much distance to stop.
