no nitto's are fine, there street legal, cant see anyone having a problem with them...
also there are Mickey Tompson drag radials that are street legal... from what i have seen they work well and are better priced but the sizes they come in are bad..

As long as the tyres have an Australian speed rating .. and are not DOT Approved ( as it's the US DOT ) then they are street tyres. There are plenty of semi comps out there that are legal for road use.

I wouldn't drive any car on the street with 18psi.

street trim is street trim.

If you are racing on a track you make the changes that will get your car the best time, who cares if someone runs 18 psi on a race track..
Street trim ''wow'' i dont race on a street...
the time you get is a ET, you record that time from the a race track..not on a street or public road...Drag Racing on a street is for nuff nuffs..
if someone wants to take there there a/c or run nitto's take there hard cover off big deal, there car is still road worthy and street legal, its just how much time and effort you want to put into this..
its all about going out there do the best ET you can..

No probs Mark you get it all off your chest mate :Reverend:

Tuner was Simon at Morpowa in Adelaide...one of 3 authorised unichip people in Adelaide...Peter from APS said good things about him so he got the job.

Now about those Nitto's you have for sale.....reckon I could squeeze those in the boot without the Mrs finding out??

Cheers

Brad

1st run on the SP9000's was a 14.566

Decided to change to the Nitos which seemed to make a difference.

2nd run was a 13.426 with 3rd run a 13.458

Now I know what the car can do it gives me something to aim for.

Timeslips attached , my car 986,....2nd run was against a XR6T with about 330rwkw....3rd run was against a BAGT that the owner said had 299rwkw !!!

Anyway pretty happy with those results ...now looking forward to Heathcote in April.

Congratulations Brad, those times are awesome.
Gotta be happy with that 3rd fastest n/a xr8.

Ahh ok wasn't aware that it was supercharged, also I was just quoting Martin because I think most weren't aware of the 12.5sec BOSS.

Well done Brad...great time done by the car!

As simon has showed, and as Jeff has showed the BA's have the power...it's just getting the right style to get them off the line and down the quarter quickly...trial and error is the best way and an educated foot!

I cant wait to get out on the track again...everyones passing me!

Sorry mark have to agree with chris on this one as some of these guys claim their car runs say a 13.4 straight of the street, all l can say is this they are not driven straight from the street if they change tyre pressures, take the rear tailgate off, change tyres from street to semi street tyres/drag radials, and totally pull things out of their cars like spare tyres, speaker boxes, passenger seats, headlights.

This is all l have to say.

If people qoute times at the track they need to say what they have done to the cars to get to do that time as we all know these are not DRAG CARS they are street driven cars and we all know where the RESPECT is it's on the street not the track........

For a moment there Mark I wasn't feeling loved. Another thought, should us XR8 guys be in the same field as the GT boys? They've already had a head start on us by about 3 tenths in the stock tune.

Hi Chris, i dont need respect..i get that from my Family, not from a motor car... i do it for fun...
i remove my hard top put on curciut slicks and drive to the Calder or Heathcote, does that make me street car? and do a 13.4... everyone wants something different, have you seen some of the Holdens how they run and there times... mine is a street car runs 13.4 the way it gets driven to the track is the way it runs..ok i do take fuel..
Was your best time done in what you would call Street trim?

Was your best time done in what you would call Street trim?
Yeah you coould say that my car has run the best time in stock trim wow took my pipes of but it will still run a 13.6 with street tyres and spare wheel and all the other junk l haul around all week, maybe you should bring the ute out and you drive the car and do a 13.4 as we all know it has only done it once.

Rodderz thats not a bad idea it's supposed to be a fun event l say no slicks allowed for street cars only the 12.00 seconds and under class allowed to use slicks this should make it fun.....Also are we having heads up racing..

of coarse you can only ran a pb once ...if you beat it, its longer a PB.
my time was done with a rev limiter, does a street car have its rev limiter removed?
Not interested in any more nit picking... we will leave it to the track..
