thats so the absolute true i bought a gearbox from the wreckers and they siad they would rebuild it for me all they did was spray from silver over it and give it a clean 3 months later it shat

What about oil weighting? I remember reading an article in SM about an old valiant that had its motor rebuilt, and the guy put it back in his Val & filled it up with the wrong oil (0W instead of 20W or higher), so it was waaaaay too watery (viscous?) when the engine was at operating temperature. Seized his motor due to metal-on-metal. So the oil might've been the wrong weighting?

My stab in the dark... :alien2:
