I always thought if I built my own home I would make my own bath, just right for me, not that I use one much but they can come in handy at times,
I was a tiling for 44 years so I have seen a few, the Japs have the best bathroom setups I have seen, double showers, big spars with grab handles and seat made just right for Mr Wong to get down and boogie like with the girls, but never have a dunny in the Bathroom, I hate that, because it lacks class. The dunny should be on the outside of the house never inside, one of my brothers thought I was stupid to think of such a thing, but then he had another 3 kids and 2 of his own in the house and he said that I was correct the dunny or dunnys should be out side of the house. Just outside, built onto the house, not out the back yard where you can step on a snake or mind the toads in the dark like in the old days. once there were toads in plague proportions when I was a kid, I would wash my foot with the hose before going back to bed but no sooner washed that foot stepped back on another bugger. |

The bathroom is for baths or showers depending on accommodations. Usually showers. The toilet is for number 1 and number 2. |

We're just about to start our bathroom, toilet, laundry and ensuite reno, and had to decide whether or not to keep a bath in the main bathroom. In the end, we decided yes, mostly so our 3 teenage boys can have a nice hot bath in winter after playing aussie rules/soccer in Canberra's at times freezing conditions. We got a free standing bath that goes in a corner, and it is deeper and more internal space than the old drop in style - not by much, maybe a 100mm in length and 60mm in depth, but the new ones all have angled end to allow sitting up (15mm length bath) but still cover up to your neck.
By the way, for supplies for renos, at good prices, hard to go past highgrove and even Bunnings.

yer good point Roostercam.
All comes down to budgets as well. JC mentioning Bunnings, great to have so much choice but damn, some of their product is rubbish purely on the base's to satisfy those who are not willing to even spend $10-20moreon an item.

AWS glass supplies 02-9832-0438 & TFO tiles 02-8728-7800. We did the bathroom & kitchen together 4 years ago. Sydney Professional Kitchens 02-9748-8421. I realise your not in Sydney, but even with transport, these businesses were the best quality & way cheaper, especially the kitchen business. Good luck.

My gf takes them occasionally... I only know this because she sends me cheeky pics when she does.
Otherwise, it's mostly children and the elderly that tend to bathe in their own filth.

Random side note but I feel like there are a whole bunch of you who are missing out on the experience of bubble baths. Your masculinity will remain intact, I assure you, but go put some nice smelling bubbly **** into a tub of hot water and just lay there. |

Okay so there may be some difficulties experienced if you're a bit exuberant. It was hilarious though...

Having a bath big enough for two in the ensuite is a good thing. Glad I changed the ensuite in my new house to include one. |
