same setup , except i have 2 extra 65mm cai pipes , side by side sorta from the airbox , and ontop of each other as they pass between the radiator support to behind the front grill . Only difference is i have mine mounted to the side of the front grill facing foward / next to the scoop , instead of having them in the centre , cheers . I drilled 2 small holes in the side of my scoop and cable tied them to the scoop .

Yep it sure does ;) . As mentioned by others , its no huge kw increase but it does work.
I spent ages messing with the standard box, and found this to be the most effective home mod airbox i could come up with , the airbox stays pretty cool / i even tested it with a thermometer in the airbox during testing different methods / also tests proved to me that using this method the airbox was a couple of degrees cooler than having it running from behind the headlight or lower pods ! ( i didnt try the wheele arche intake mod )
.
cheers mate .

off the topic for a sec , just to make you all jelous ! ..lol , i have a mouth watering chook on the rotary spit-roast bbq outside cooking away .. : ..lol , excellent 30 degree day for a bbq .

yeah i believe its worth a couple of kilowatts for sure, the throttle response is heaps heaps better. i might grab a Gtech meter off a mate to test it, i have hunch theres a good kw difference waiting to be found out. I can feel it put it that way the car goes hard.

After a few weeks playing around with cardboard cutting shapes and what not. I decided to go for it an make an air box like useless one. Still a work in progress though.
Ive come up with a very good idea too I think, which you's will have to wait for pics as its too hard to explain just in writing lol. Ive got a few pics here...
All in preparation for my flash tune :

Well here is the good idea I was talking about, in my mind atleast.

Theory- When full/throttle is on, all air will be cold as coming from front of car through flexi pipe.

No throttle, the moving air going through the flexi pipe will no longer go into the airbox as the the throttle body is closed, therefore the moving cold air is forced out running along side the airbox. Cooling in the process. :Reverend:
I hope this makes sense...

Yes that is an ice cream container

Like it??

: It works
After an hour or so driving, the sheet metal is hot but the airbox itself felt the same temp as when I first started the car. :jab:
