It's hard to see in the video, but if he didn't straighten off when he did he would've run into me

However, I think your experiance may be a bit worse....

Nah wouldn't have been my fault. The left lane swings to the left pretty wide, then back in. What he had done, was start in the left, go halfway into the right, and straight through the both lanes until the end 'til he eventually returned to the left lane

Watch the front drivers side of his car and you can see how far over the line he is

I meant entering the roundabout at 55-60kmh

i have the v2 of that camera, try aiming it down a little lower, you'll get a way better picture with much better exposure.. also you won't be shooting through the tint dots on the windshield. I have a small line of the mrs' nail polish across the join from the mount to the camera so i can line it up again perfectly when i take it out of the car.

By the way i have an epic collection of idiocy since i got it last September.

rog i have the same cam, and i can tell you the speed reading lags to all buggery, it can take several seconds to show the actual speed in the case of braking and accelerating. Sometimes i've screeched to a halt in emergency braking situations and it takes 3 or 4 seconds to show 0 on the screen. Good chance XR6T0Y was going significantly slower than it looks.

Actually I anticipated that car would do that, without having to read your post first. Here in Vic they tend to cross over the line about 80% of the time when going through a roundabout, they like to straightline it. Easier on the arms not having to turn the steering wheel so much.

I never enter a roundabout with another vehicle next to me in the other lane, unless I am well forward of it so my car is very obvious to that driver. I stay just behind, so if they do cut across into my lane there wont be any mishaps. Just part of defensive driving.

The line marking on that roundabout that XR6TOY showed, also appears to be wrong:

The arrows before the roundabout clearly show that you can only turn left or go straight on when in the left lane. The right lane has right turn and straight on arrows. Therefore that left lane should not be continuous around the roundabout, here in Vic the left lane normally only goes straight on, not around to the right in that situation. XR6TOY had to cross the left lane to turn into the road he was taking. Maybe that's an SA thing, but could be confusing to drivers.

drive on round abouts.. it happens here alot..its happened to me more times than I like to remember... but the biggest idiot move they like to do here is right hand turns from the left lane.. its like they want to create a HOOK turn of thier own..

Looks like he turned right. Looked like a stupid roundabout anyway.

Yesterday a car did almost the same thing to me at the roundabout. Except I was in the left lane they were half in the right lane half in mine caught. I also caught it on my cam. Blast off the horn and they moved over a little bit.

There is no problems with going straight through a roundabout using either lane, but blinkers are to be used when changing lanes.

Yeah, but we have signs on the back that says that if anyone tries to overtake us then, we can drive over their bonnet

What I'm saying is that most drivers here in Vic ignore the lane marking in the roundabout, even when there may be cars next to them needing that space. Just like the car in XR6TOY's video.

Blinkers or no blinkers, drivers should stay in their lane unless it is safe to change lanes, and should not wander partly into the next lane. Whether in a roundabout or driving along a double laned divided road.

Obviously larger trucks and with trailers need the extra width in the roundabouts however.

Right hand lane is to turn around the roundabout and enter left hand lane to get in the correct lane. However, doing this also cuts off the second land entering which must merge into a single lane......
Its a bad roundabout

Been the wrong way around a large garden roundabout in a firetruck under lights & sirens and it's still probably the most uncomfortable situation I've been in.. short of heading down the highway on the wrong side of divided roads but that's another story, The jesus bar was most definitely in use!

Well...
After re assessment... A mint BA manual mercury silver with sunroof and leather goes off the road...
Will be at Mannheim fowlers in the next couple of weeks....
Assessors missed a few things that bumped damage up to 20k+

The phone call was like a punch in the guts
Insurance gave some hope then tore it away...
That's one way to have a humpday

I feel for you Papa; mine was just like yours (no sunroof though) and in really good condition. So to hear this one is gone is sad. Mine, fortunately, went to another good home to a fellow Forums member.

Best remedy? Get yourself one of these S/C beasties; you'll love it!
