That's really interesting - they've launched the new drivetrains without waiting for the facelift. So maybe we'll see them here before the end of the year?
Will be interesting to see if they drop the 2.2 diesel in Europe for the high output 2.0. Would be nice to see the Kuga here, but I guess it won't happen while the Territory is around.

In a break from tradition though, the new Mondeo is being designed and engineered in the US.
Well, here's the next Falcon. I just hope the Yanks don't stuff it up.

One of the reasons I got the Mondeo was the fact it was engineered & designed in Germany may be the facelift model will be my last for the blue oval happy to upgrade diesel engine with powershift transmission knowing the yanks it will have double coil springs and a few recalls thrown in for suspense BIG mistake F O R D :togo:

Wheels are Ford Mondeo Mk4 Zetec Y-spoke wheels (17" x 7.5) with 235/45 tyres. Can post a photo if you're interested.

But yes, one has to wonder at whether the US can do a better job than European R&D centres. I do believe FoA has had some input into this next-gen platform too...

Basic American design is floating suspension, power this and power that, not to mention their recalls on build quality I may well be wrong but I will take the last model out of Europe with the new engines & transmissions and I will be happy, but I first need to see the design out of USA just in case :thebirds:

Has Ford Australia rocks in its head, or are they really want to kill off the Mondeo

Hmmm......no ordinary 3-pedal manual available by the look of things.......
the smooth and effortless Ford PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch transmission system.......It is fitted as standard equipment with the EcoBoost petrol engine |

XR5 is apparently discontinued from update according to comparo against Liberty GT and Passat R36 in MOTOR mag.
Ecoboost powershift does sound like a good drivetrain. |

Maybe they are holding off until the EcoBoost Falcon debuts, to give it more impact?
Nothing stopping them with the new diesel though...

They probably don't want buyers to have a choice between a Falcon and a Mondeo with the same engine. I know which I'd buy...

Have I missed something here with the diesel wagon?
I didn't think they were out here yet? I'd like a Titanium TDCi wagon, but might have to settle on the hatch when the lease is up. Or is life too short to stay with a Mondeo after three years?
