Sorry to dig this thread up, but instead of making a new one, today I use my key for the first time since owning the car to open the doors. Only problem is when I removed my key the whole locking mechanism came out still attached to the key. It looks like when they fixed the door over a year ago they never put the screw in to hold it onto the door, either that or it has come loose, but as I said this is the first time I ever put the key in the door. Will have to remove the door trim and screw it on, or get a professional to do it. More and more I wish I had bought the XR6.

You got the 3 yr extended warranty didn't you ? Take it back and tell them to do it properly.

I voided the warranty because they were being ***holes about the trans and what not. I ended up getting someone I trusted to fix the issues, then in another thread you will see I recouped part of my losses, however I vowed never to use toyota ever again.

Didn't I read earlier in the thread you were thinking of refinancing and trading it back in in 12 months ; that would be about now wouldn't it? Time to trade up while it's still worth something and hasn't got boot barks and dents all over it where you will finally spit the dummy at it.

Yeah that was based on the mrs being in full time work again. She is still only working 2days a week, unless they need her more, but she is not always doing full time hours so it is hard to refinance.
