^^
Muscle weighs more than fat.... It's denser is what I mean to say.

EDIT: Just the way a pound of feathers is lighter than a pound of rocks...

BMI results are jokes... As someone who has had the oppertunity to play sport at the highest level, and I am extremly greatful for having had that oppertunity, I can tell you there BMI's mean exactlly zero!

I can also tell you that I am currently extremly fit, I train six days a week, and I just recently had a BMI calculated for a new job and failed misrably as I am 107-108kg's and approximately 6'6"

A skin fold test is a much better method of measuring the total mass and fat of the body, as it takes into account muscle mass as well as bone thickness and development, I can also tell you that employers who offer BMI's only do it to speed up the process for those that fall within that window, and to also relieve the pressure off the people that sit there with micormeters and measure the folds in the skin. Legally they cannot reject someone on a BMI alone

One thing is for sure, I will not fail the skin fold test. As it was said by Chris Rock - DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

The other interesting fact is, 98% of AFL footballers fail a BMI, largely due to muscle development.

He speaks the truth.... when I was racing I had a race weight of 72ish kg, and at 6'2".... i had about 5% body fat... gave me a BMI of 20.5... doesn't compute. (No one I raced with believed my weight... i put it down to fairly dense bone structure...)
It now tells me that at 90ish kg (I put on a lot of muscle after I stopped racing, mainly upper body... go figure) I'm overweight??? I could be leaner, but I'm sure as hell not overweight in the way it suggests....

You can also work out your BMI by this simple math calculation:
Weight (kg) / Height (m) / Height (m)

So me, I'm 175cm and 62kg.

That is:
62 / 1.75 / 1.75 = 20.2

So my BMI is 20 which is good.
20-25 is a good weight range.
< 20 means you are underweight.
> 25 means you are overweight.

Though it doesnt take into account bone size or muscle mass.
