that colour is called "perfect blue" I have a mate with an VE R8 wagon in that colour and another with a Black VF R8 W375 Wagon....nice cars but i prefer the looks of the 2013 E3 over the VF in a wagon at least

by the way has anyone seen how fast these VF GTS' are?
do they do a 4.4? faster? slower?
i want to know what they would do with sticky tyres on a track not just on the street

Some magazines have quoted as low as 4.1x 0-100km... So they're quite impressive.

Private owners are managing low 12sec 1/4s.... Exhaust, tune and pulley is seeing 10sec 1/4s (that is with standard rubber!!)... They're quite the track weapon.

Cannot a Rspec with those mods creep into the 10s?

The FG has managed to age quite well.As soon as the VF was shown I thought I'll give it a year before it starts to look dated. The front still looks like the previous model's Caprice.

Not many people noticed that all the times releasesed were not done on the street like every other test in history....including quoted times of GT Rspecs, put up against the track tested GTS times. Not exactly equal testing is it. But 35k difference asside it's a track weapon. Just looks like a poorly designed car!

Normally there done on the straight of a circuit or past the start line of the drag strip so not to affected by the extra traction, that's why every review says the auto f6 does a 13sec 1/4 yet they and do 12s.

Yep Active Automotives GTS has run a best time of 10.4 with those mods plus an intake I think on stock tyres

Just remember guys, once the Falcon and Commodore are gone you will have to come up other things to argue and whinge about
Arguing over what is faster, and Aurion or a Genesis just isnt going to be as interesting.

Lads the GTS is a beast, just like I said before it was even released..

LSA =s grunt..

Only if FPV used the GT500 donk with a chassis to handle the grunt!!

Been good while it lasted 04ish (phoon) to 2013, 9 years of owning Holden's and hsvs..

Even the mrs gives em a touch up of the lights now..

They had us for V8's from VN to VE. When they put the 335 motor into the FG is when we took over. The barra 6t was quicker than their v8s though

How anyone could say that this does not look good or is a joke of a design etc baffles me. The e1 was the last hsv I liked as when the e2 came out they went over the top. This one is just right. I'm not a fan of the other VF hsv's, I just like the GTS.

There is no baffling involved. Simply....looks are subjective. End of story. I don't like it, it's nothing about red vs blue. I liked VE, it was a design that gel'ed front rear side quarter view all made sense. VF looks mean, but not cohesive. To me. I don't expect everyone to agree with me though. Thank God we're all different.

Everyone is different. I hated the VE except for the e1 hsv's. But comments like 'the designers must have been drunk when designing the Gen F' or whatever was said are just plain silly

Yeah ill pass on the emotive comments myself also I prefer to have a opinion and not trash everyone else's. I mean scratch the surface and it's a awesome piece of kit albeit irrelevant to my budget Interesting you mention VE HSV's they are certainly equally polarizing esp E3.

To me the VF GTS looks like bits of lego cobbled together especially from front on. They do not have the nice clean lines of the FG GT.

But I do love that blue colour in the second last pic that fgpsi posted. Wish FPV did a GT in that colour.

I love the white GTS what a beast, as for the GT looks over done with all the stickers and numbers and the bonnet bulge doesn't look right, FPV got it spot on with the F6.

Seen the GTS go around bathurst against a VX GTS and V8 super car with Garth Tander driving friggin thing wasn't much slower than the race car.

I'm not sure that it would with standard rubber?

I like the GTS, but i also love my GT. Would be happy to own both if i could! Would also love an F6, then i could safely say i have 3 of the best Aussie cars ever!

I like the look of the GTS; especially the wheels and brakes package. I also admire the engineering that has gone into it. I'm not sure how that sophistication will translate to reliability but that would not be a concern for me as I wouldn't be doing high km's. The R-Spec has done 5000km in 15 months.

From the rear the FG GT is much better, the way the tail lights flow into the rear guard looks integrated.

But, as they say, looks are subjective!

I'm with you Jim. Honestly I could not have owned an E3 HSV, (surely designed by 14 year old teenage boys winning a school yard design contest), but the new VF GTS has acceptable looks in my opinion and like you and other independently thinking enthusiasts on here I admire the engineering experitise that's gone into the GTS.

People need to weigh up the car and be aware it not only costs signifcantly more to buy, its fuel consumption is about 15% more than a GT and tyre and brake replacements are likely to be pretty expensive too.

Rodge,
The maintenance / replacement cost on consumables are likely to match a M /AMG car (without ceramic brakes), maybe 15-25% cheaper. Still a great buy IMO.

If you go back to all the GTS reviews...they were all done on high grip drag strips against other cars or comparos. The tests that weren't at the DRAGS contained ZERO performance figures. Every test in history has provided performance figures even if they were on the street or at low grip race tracks. The media had the GTS for months of testing including days at Phillip Island and still no performance figures untill it hit high grip DRAG strips. The GTS is the first car to ever be tested like this......go and check....it's been brought up before!
Then Rspec DRAG times were posted and there's a bees whisker in it.

Cars guide (first to time the car, BEST of 4.7. They quoted someone took it to the drags later and got best of 4.4)

Every test in the past has always been done on 'private roads with their vbox testing.

Didn't see the original pic. The Clubby could look like any old black barge, no real presence at all, probably couldn't tell the difference between it and an SS or even an S at 20m.

The GT stands out.

I have seen a few GTS' getting around, agree about the yellow calipers being a little bright but then I never liked the red calipers on cars.
Other than that I have to say I like the look of the GTS, in black or white it looks pretty good. Would love to give one a spin.
I much prefer the subtle look on the VF as opposed to the E2 and E3 models, hence why I guess I much prefer the look of the GT-E and F6-E models within the FPV range. Far more classy.

Autocar N.Z. got a best time of 4.15 seconds 0-100 in an auto and didn't use a drag strip. How many of the other magazine testers used an auto equipped GTS ?
It was quicker than the very latest 423 KW version of the BMW M5 tested in their January 2014 edition in which they got a best time of 4.35 seconds and also quicker than the Mercedes--Benz E63 S AMG with the sport tune of 430 kw and 800 nm in which they got a best time in the 4.2's somewhere, sorry can't remember the last digit, late in 2013.

Numbers speak for themselves in my opinion and are very impressive.
