I ordered mine and paid the deposit today.
Manual, Kinetic and February 2015 delivery. The dealer i bought it through has already sold their allocations for the year and I'm their first order. No advertising or any sales other than people walking in and putting their money down. This "1200" number is being touted around and if the numbers are limited as indicated I dare say the earlier you order the better. Looking at the dealer guide there are no factory options on the car as leather, LSD, matching alloy spare are all standard with SYNC2, reverse camera, voice activated satnav, dual-zone, mats, R-spec suspension, Brembo's and the 335 motor. The XR8 also has premium, bolstered leather seats. Having sealed the deal for one in the mid 50's I doubt I'll ever see such a performance or drivers car in this price bracket again. Roll on February 2015.

Thanx Adz. Not sure it does it for me, tho.
My initial thoughts for choice of colours were KInetic, Victory Gold or Emporer. Then Vanish, White, Lightning Strike, Smoke and last was Silhouette. Now I've seen a few actual cars in various colours, Seeing the Victory Gold XR8 at Bathurst has put me off that colour. Too brown for my liking. And after seeing these photos, I think Emporer is off the list now too. So, it has pretty ,much come down to either Kinetic or Winter White. Have there been any pics of an XR in Vanish? Can't remember seeing them, but I think it will be too dark for my liking. Craig H

And the fact I already have a blue car in the stable at home and the recent blue offerings don't come close to it unfortunately. The FGX colour range is a bit crap really nothing like BF and FG.

Hey maybe he is thinking ahead when a bystander says "Ya got a 335 under that Man?" and there's another excuse for an impromptu car show moment.................after all no other colour shows off engine bay detail better than White.

My short list was Kinetic, Victory Gold, Smoke and Emperor. I love Kinetic but its too close to my Sensation XR6. Victory Gold looks awful in the metal. I love Smoke, but I feel the pewter accents on the grill and wing mirrors blend into it too much. I chose Emperor in the end. It showed up the colour accents, matches in with the red brembo brakes as well as the red seat stitching. Its also something a little different to other performance Falcon's that seem to be all in Silhouette, Winter White ect.

Those of you keen on white, or have had a white engine bay in the past, how has it been keeping it looking tidy? I mean, it's not like modern day engines are spewing oil and filth all over the place, but NSW roads are still garbage and general muck still gets in there. The darker colours (Emperor and Kinetic, for example) do a good job of hiding that muck, for better or worse. I've got a Seduce BF now, and adore that colour - I think Emperor is even nicer, however I am keen on a change. Tossing up between White and Kinetic...

Mate no comparison, the 8s have huge cold air intake and it fills the under bonnet with crud and the air filter will be dirtier in 5000km than your XR6 woud be in 50,000km or more.

I Googled all of the dealers in SE Queensland, and emailed all of them explaining what I wanted. Out of 11, 5 came back with stock, 3 in the first allocation. If you are prepared to drive a few hours, it will open up the number of dealers and available stock. Surely there would be one decent dealer amongst them?
