Got a little nigggling problem with my brakes atm, at low speed braking i.e. 40kms and below, they squeal like crazy! I have cleaned them out as best I can but they still do it a fair bit. I know its a bit of a "live with it" problem, but is there anything I can try or have done to shut them up?
Btw, they are Herrod brakes (330mm upgrade at front).

How worn are they? You could try toeing your brakes in (ie. think of toeing in tyres).
Maybe a disc shave?

It'll be coming from the back - the handbrake shoes need adjusting. Your friendly local dealer will do it, but 4 to 8 weeks later it will need to be done again. It's a fact of life for many Falcon, Commondore, Magma and Cardigan (oops camry) drivers.

hahaha the good ol hand brake shoes.. its either too loose or too tight(squeak squeak), mines slightly on the tight side however the shoe relies on centrifugal force to centre itself to prevent it from rubbing(well thats the conclusion i came to when i pulled mine apart to figure it out!) the slower u go the shoe tends to drop and start rubbing against the inner walls of the disc, the faster u go it centres itself more.. hence the noise disappearing. I may not be 100% certain on this but its a thought.

I pulled my rear rotors and calipers off on the weekend. cleaned out the dust from the handbreak shoes and re-adjusted them. easy to do. made a hell of a difference. just remember to let the adjustment on the handbreak leaver itslelf go b4 you try and remove the rotors.

They could be worn down to the little metal clip that is ment to squeal to tell you to replace the pads. Or maybe they have become glazed.
