Default Poor lil Sophie

Sophie Delezio, the five-year-old Sydney girl who suffered horrific injuries when a vehicle ploughed into her daycare centre in 2003, is again fighting for her life after being struck by a car.

Ron Delezio said his daughter was hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing on Frenchs Forest Road in Seaforth, in Sydney's north, about 4pm (AEST) Friday.

Sophie, who had been in a push-chair at the time, was thrown 18 metres by the impact, an ambulance officer on the scene said.

Poor girl, makes you think when we all whinge about our lives when they don't run like a movie stars, and things happen to an inocent little girl not once but twice, i mean just go into a childrens ward at an hospital and see all the young kids with cancer and other life threatening illnesses, there lives have not even started and they have to go through this sort of ordeal, as for Sophie my warm wishers go out to her and her family...

Yeah I saw it too...and her mothers anguish. I really feel for this family and that little girl. She has been through so much in her short little life....but she has a fighting little spirit and I really hope she pulls through again. My best wishes to her and her family.

Cheers.

That is horrible news. Came as a big shock. You just have to feel for the family and friends.

its such a sad thing, that poor girl has had the hardest time and now , the survival to live is well in her. I hope she comes out OK, fingers Xed . Thats the sort of person we need to run the country, someone who has had real life suffering but smiles with pride and real love.

We saw this on the news last night as well and we sat there open-mouthed unable to speak. Utterly horrible both for little Sophie and her family; my heart goes out to them.

I heard on the radio this morning that an 80-year old is being charged with dangerous driving. Allegedly, the driver failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing.

Whilst some choose to pray for Sophie and her family, it's times like this when I'm reminded of my own beliefs that there is no God. No-one deserves such rotten luck. Hope she finds the strength to pull through again.

i am going to get roasted for being an unsensitive ***** here, but i will give you the hot tip that they werent on the pedestrian crossing at all.
annoys me that they are lieing about it all.
it sucks that she got hit by a car, but its annoying that when things like this happen they allways make out these people are allways in the right.
accidents happen.

what about that 80 yr old man, i think the limit to holding a driving licence should be 65 , Now he will most likly die with depression related stress.

Yes i would hate to be the person that hit her thats for sure.. She made the news first time around from the kindergarden and everyone was sorry for her Imagine what will be said and done to the driver that hit her..

on saying that it seems like she is 1 tough kid and she will pull through this it looks like .. I just hope that the rest of her life she will have no other accidents and go on to some thing bigger and better.

Poor Sophie..My heart goes out to her and her family..And at the same time to the old bloke. No-one deliberately sets out to run some-one over. Imagine the guilt he must be feeling. He has to live with what has happened for the rest of his days.
I'm sure when Sophie pulls through she is going to grow up to be the strongest, warmest, most compassionate person imaginable.

Was watching the Aust-NZ test last Friday night and it came up during half time (I think).

How absolutely unlucky does one person have to be?

Hopefully she is doing OK.

what are the odds of two stupid old morons being behind the wheel of cars and hitting this poor girl,i felt very close to tears when i saw her dad on telly the other night, seems the guy in front stopped at the crossing for the girl and her godmother who was a carer for her ,when this old fool just overtook the car who had stopped and slammed into the pram, as for comments about it not happening at a crossing by another member ,pull your head in and stop talking crap. she was hit at crossing and flung 18metres down the road fool. why do you thing the council has finally decided to put lights in now,
