ok i know there's already a thread about this but unfortunately only a little advise was given. and now the problem is worse than ever. like i believe it was GK?? my car tries to stall when i am braking and almost at a complete stop.
on some occasions it does it whilst just idling also, and twice now the car has stalled while i've been driving around corners. i'm at my wits end, i've cleand the ISC? changed the leads had new exhaust on to replace old rusted one with holes, completed the battery re-learn thing, AND i'm about ready to drive the car into a pole. is their anyone here who can tell me what is causing the problem before i have to take it to a mechanic and lose more of my in short supply money....???!!??? i've decided money IS the root of all evil and can only buy other people happiness

Maybe some sort of vaccuum leak, check the hose from the brake booster to engine.
Also check the inlet manifold ( where it bolts on to the engine )for leaks, as if this is leaking it can upset the fuel air mixture. |

Check the engine bay wiring. Sounds like a loose connection to me, and I had similar symptoms in an EB that I owned a while ago.

Try the steering idle sensor. It is mounted on the rack near where the column goes through the fire wall. Its a long shot but it fixed our NC Fairlanes problem it was doing the same thing. Hope it helps. Bj

Vaccuum leak causes idle and surge issues, usually idles rough and cuts out when trying to accelerate quickly from stop.
If brake booster is leaking either from hose or internally when you brake it can cause vaccuum leak and car idle drops dramatically |

my car stalled going around a corner once. but that was cause i had no fuel. other than that, the battery re-learn thing would be my other guess. but youve done that.
i think you are gonna have to bite the bullet and have a mechanic look at it?

Disconnect the ISC valve. If the car doesn't run any differently, then it's stuffed and needs to be replaced.
If it's not that, then I would be looking for a broken inlet manifold gasket.

Try open and closing the right rear door 5 times, then open it, leave it open, open and close the fuel flap 3 times, open the boot, fold down the rear seats, get in the boot and close it, crawl through into the rear seats, and then climb out the rear right door, put the seats back in place, and close the door.
Hopefully by now, you should realise that doing this won't fix anything, so you should jsut take it to a mechanic and get them to find and fix the problem.... Have you tried a new battery?

Without actually seeing the problem we are all just having educated guesses.
As the original post suggested the guy is trying to save himself some money by eliminating what we all think it might be. |

The only time my ute did this was when I didn't have a balance line for LPG. I'm not trying to be a smarty pants, just pointing this out.

My AUIII would stall if I drove at a reasonable speed around a corner, nothing too fast but not a granny either. It would just lose all accelleration for a second.
It was the fuel sock. |
