Default Hazard flasher warning

Hi all, just had an expensive lesson on using hazard lights when a trailer is hooked onto the Ranger.Flasher relay states suitable for 4 globes. On mine with extra globes in the bullbar I was running 8 globes with the hazard lights flashing.End result, cooked flasher relay,so a warning DO NOT use hazards when you have a trailer or caravan hooked up to your tow vehicle.

I see Rangers broken down on the side of the freeway all the time with a caravan behind it and flashers going.

Interesting given in the Everest, with trailer, I had 8 without issues. Two front, two side, two rear and 2 on the trailer

Mine is a 2010 PK maybe the later models( which seem to break down more) have a better flasher system,or maybe LED globes which don’t draw the same amount of power.

Flasher unit? Luxury. One of my Alfas has just mysteriously cooked it’s BEM. No flashers, no locking, high beams permanently on. The repair is likely to cost more than a flasher can.

You’d think if the car was sold with a factory tow bar this would’ve been fixed in the line

Most cars have at least 6, with the repeater on the front guard or in the mirror...

Is the flasher relay the genuine product or has it been changed already at some stage earlier?

Yeah I forgot about the little lights at the rear of the front guards,so 6 originals plus 2 extra in the bullbar and 2 more on the trailer. It was the original and the hasards have been on all 8-10 before, but not for an extended time,( maybe an hour)
