I recently got myself a 2.0lt pinto for my escort how ever it has a cortina sump on it (can i use that or do i need to source a escort 1?) and my other problem came when i went to take the head off, there are a weird type of bolt holding the head on, does any1 know what type of socket/thing i need to undo the bolts and what size it is?
Thx David |

The head bolts are 10mm spline bits about $10 a set at supercheap
The sumps should be the same

soz for keep asking questions but i got some more
a guy at my dads work said that the 1600 trans tunnel isn't bigh enough to fit the 2ltr bellhousing for the gearbox and that u need to source a RS2000 bellhousing and even that needs to be trimed a little to fit. Is that true?? its a mk2 1600 and i really want to know exactly what i need to change to be able to bolt up the 2ltr after its been rebuilt. thx david |

Manual trans tunnel is the same size - 2.0, 1.6, 1.3. The auto trans tunnel is bigger than the manual trans tunnel.

how hard is it to make about 110-120hp @ wheels from the 2lt?
ATM I'm balancing crank new pistons, rings etc new cam, rocker arms etc (what size cam would suit my wanted power for street use?) Is a port and polish needed to make that power? how big of a port job would be needed? What type of carb would be recomended? thx David |

Get yourself a copy of the David Vizard book on modifying the 2ltr. It will answer all your questions, and give you a few extra ideas...
