Hi guys can someone help me my wife's au wagon has been leaking oil at the front of engine and it's blowing over timing cover alternator and fan belt as well as under the bonnet. Can someone give the clues what I need to do to fix this? Thanks in advance .Tony

A common leak in this area is the timing chain tensioner. You can try tightening the plug. Pull the fans out and a 9/16 ring spanner will reach it. It lives just under the power steering bracket that is attached to the head.
If this doesn't fix it, you will need to replace the o rings in it. Not a huge job, but the power steering bracket needs to come off to get to it, so an extra 20 mins. |

 I would give the area a really good clean, warm up the car or short drive then look for the leak, then you'll know for sure were the leak is. UK

I just spent $800 on getting oils leaks fixed, 5 months later another $1000 on 3 new leaks... the seals are all starting fail. I'm not sure I can afford to keep the car much longer :(
Even the mechanic said if you were thinking of trading it in some time within the next year or so to hold off... |
