Default Bad Axle tramp
Anyone had problems with axle tramp on the 1/4 mile?

i had no spare or sub in the boot at the time. Im wondering if the extra weight would stop it?

it stoped me for getting a 14 sec slip :( ing_sm :gren:

yea when my shokers were shagged i had some but replaced em and fine now.
Could be that otherwise got me beat

The suspension set up is only 7 or 8 months old. i think it could be a combination of not enough weight/to much pressure in the tyres and the way i dump the clutch

I used to get it real bad, then i changed my upper control arm bushes. All good now

Tramp can be caused by alot of things, bad shocks, bad bushes, geometry problems (pinion angle).

If it goes away with extra weight in the back, I'd look at the shocks first. They might be new but are they good quality?

My dad had massive tramp in his mustang.
He put tramp rods, stiffer suspension, tuffer tail shaft, higher ratio lsd and nice tread and no more tramp.. what fixed it the most was the tramp rods.

Simple Drew either dump it harder or get a AU never had axle bounce in mine but as the guys have said repalce the rear shockies and that should cure it

I have no trouble on the road, but i did have almost 50psi in the tyres (im lazy from morgan park) so i hope that (being the high psi) is the problem.

I have Monroe GT Shocks with king springs

When im accelerating hard sometimes i get surging acceleration after changing first-second. Is that just me not making clean changes, or is that axle tramp?

For the drags last night you should of halved that psi.. Low profile tyres with max pressure in them takes a fair bit of travell out of the rear suspension

axle tramp sounds like your tyres and diff is bouncing up and down making a horific noise almost like a bad stut stut stutter.

I had old shocks and floged out upper control arm bushes and got tramp real bad. Lowered the car 45mm in the rear and it was almost completely gone, New koni shocks and bushes and all fixed now but i was suprised at once the lower control arm was level it almost totaly eliminated it even with bad shocks and worn bushes still.

Please slap yourself, you should know better. No more than 30psi for the strip, I run about 25. Don't know if it will cause tramp but you will have traction issues. 50 psi, OMG!

Stiffer shockers will cure your axel tramp Drew. When I bounced the back of your car they felt to soft... and lower the tire psi to 20 -25
