Default Rear Window Stop Light

I'm sorry being lazy here, now that I have gone to a Boot Lid look at the rear I think I better get my brake light working inside the rear window before I get tailed by a Patrolman and get booked for something so stoooopid : :
They are obviously not connected having the usual spoiler fitted with the brake light in the wing, has someone done this before ?
Is the bulb just missing or fuse or what ?????
What bulb do I need to buy,or maybe it's in there, should have a closer look I suppose.
How do I get to this tight little situation ?
Thanks in advance :

I may be wong, but if you have a spoiler the rear window light is not connected ( by means of just leaving the globe out ) as the law states you should only have one rear ( central ) brake light.

without the spoiler all you need to do is intall the correct globe into the existing rear light and from memory look up inside of your boot for access.

Cheers
Pete

Blue Driver, Not only is the bulb not there, but the red glass/perspex/diffuser is also not there. If you look carefully, you will notice that it is a piece of black plastic taking up that space (at least in series 1 XRs). So, you will need to get a rear brakelight from Ford, or the wreckers. I got mine for $15 from the wreckers when I was driving around spoilerless for a while. You will also need a bulb.

To change the black plastic to the proper brake light, you need to remove the rear parcel shelf cover. It's pretty easy - just get some new Xmas tree lips as the old ones will be buggered.

Maurie it should be a simple matter of putting the bulb in.

Thanks very much fellas, cheeez something simple as usual seems a pain in the backside especially after JC's reply lol it sounds like they made it easier for the S3......thanks Aust after speaking with Darkhorse it seems as easy as just putting a wedge bulb in the it's place.

You are right DOC, here in NSW I know if you had the spoiler light all never had the window bulb connected.
Thanks again for your help bulb shall be purchased on the way home.

Agreed and tried and tested by me. Its just the push in style globe that goes in. Everything else needed is there ready to go ie wires/globe holder etc etc

Righteo so if you took the brake light lens out, you can access the internals of the stop light? Reason I ask is that in getting the clip undone for the bulb connector to explain to BD, I stuffed up putting it all back in ie the bulb is now somewhere inside the stop mount and buggered if I can get my fingers in and around there to get it back out again!

Just looked at mine and its just like JC's. Just a plastic cover, no lens at all.

Looks like I'm keeping some sort of wing cause I couldnt be stuffed getting it all sorted.
