Default el dash cluster

are the I6 an V8 dash clusters interchangable?? one out of a fairmont with oil an volt guage into my xr8 witch also has oil an temp

That's a good question - I would think not as the v8 will send different signals to the I6 dash for the speedo & tacho - just like when you buy an aftermarket tacho it was 4, 6 & 8 cylinder settings.....

The speedo gets it signal off the transmission so can't see an issue with the speedo - just the tacho - everything else hooks up the same

thats wat i was worried about, almost bought a cluster off ebay with 103k on the clock. police speck speedo. only went for 150

I was watching a police spec one on eBay - ended on Saturday with no bids @ $120 - guy has a for sale add in fordmods under option 20

He had buy now for $350 or something lol

But i have been told with 4.11s even with the calibration it won't be able to show the correct speed
