Hey, Im considering chuckin a HKS GT2540 turbo into my girl. I am just curious to know what sort of intercooler you all would recommend as well as piping and anything else I am going to need to have the complete kit.
Apart from the turbo pricing (cos I have already bought the bastard), how much am I looking at for the rest? *Prays.... please not much please not much please not much* Any help would be appreciated.... Ashman |

Alright, I have just learnt that this particular turbo *MAY* restrict the engine at higher revs.
There just doesn't seem to be much information on soupin up e-series, let alone any older ford. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be very appreciative. I realise that this particular model of turbo that I have will give me a great boost response initially.... and maybe I am too impulsive at a good price, but am I wasting my time and money even bothering with this idea? *Note the sense of urgency? My car is going in tommorrow for a major service and the turbey is gettin fitted..... need to know.... desperate....please Thanks Ash |

depnds what you consider a lot of money.
a turbo install is not cheap. exhaust manifold intercooler piping intercooler ECU changes dump pipe various flanges hoses fittings gaskets silicone joiners it all adds up, and becomes a pricey exersise. a turbo project is something that has to be researched before committing to it.

price depends on how much detail you want in the set up.
it goes back to the rule of you get what you pay for!!! There are some people who are doing it (parts and fitting) for about 5000 bucks or you could go and get it done the right and reliable way for 10 - 12000. did i answer any questions or did i dribble some useless crap?........ oh well

that turbo sounds familiar.. a mate had one on his Gemi iirc.. it was only a 1600 engine.. So i don't know how the lazy 4.0l would go with such a little fella on the side..

GT2540 is probably a little small on the exhaust side. A GT3540 would be perfect......or maybe even a GT45...lol
