No toy. It's going to be a daily. It will be used in our local area so each day will be about a 16k round trip. I want it to be an 8 for my main reason in that I've never owned a ford V8.

I think my days of older cars are long gone. 20 years ago I'd happily spend all day and night in the garage working on the car, but now at 40, I'm more inclined to pass out watching TV at night. It suits me better. Plus I much prefer older holdens like a Kingswood to anything ford. I grew up on the dark side and still have a soft spot for the HX Sandman. Spent many hours in the back of my Panel Van at the drive-ins donkey years ago.

Also I'm looking to do some towing with it, so I figure the V8's are well suited to this task, so what ever I get, must have a towbar fitted. And I'm too fat too lazy, so an auto she must be.

Easy...you could get a good 302 falcon or a K code Fairlane with that.

Sounds like a perfect reason to want a V8, personally id never own a classic for a daily but some do I guess.

How is the hunt going?

Pretty good. I have been looking and found a couple that have got my attention. Depending on what happens will dictate what I do. I think there are some very good clean examples of some AU's getting around. I've found a couple interstate, so a road trip might be in order.

If I do decide, might have to engage the services of some local forum members to go for a look for me.

Anyway, next few weeks I will know what I'll be doing.

Well, plans at the moment are old hold for the AU. So for now, we will stay with a single car. This may change as I've found the car I want and it's at the top end of my price range. Thanks to everyone for your help.
