Myself and my wife are currently looking to upsize the XR8 to a territory and she has always complained with the falcon that she has to sit too close to the steering wheel to reach the pedals, so I was thinking i would try to get a new car with adjustable pedals.
Does anyone that has them fitted actually used them on a regular basis (between you and the wife) or do they just get set and you live with it. Is it worth the hassle of trying to find one with them fitted? thanks. Michael |

Have them on the terry.....great addition for short people like myself. That, and the memory seat are terrific.

I reckon they're good but most important is telescopic steering adjustment (IMHO).

Territory has both adjustable pedals (except some models late 06 til mid 07) and memory seats in the Ghia's (also has telescopic steering wheel adjustment). When you set the pedals/seat to suit your wife make sure you have a key in the ignition (with remote attached). Then once you have set it and locked the car each time she uses that remote to open it the pedals and seat will revert to her position. Do the same for yourself and when you use the car with your remote, the pedals and seat will revert to your set position (did all that make sense lol).

I have the adjustable pedals on my F6 and wife who is 5 foot nothing compared to me 6 foot, loves them! They seem firmer too.

Yep - SY II Territory Ghia here. I'm 6'2", she's 5'4" and the pedals are invaluable. I encourage her to sit away from the wheel by pumping the pedals towards her, she still tries to attach her face to the windscreen, but the pedals have taught her she doesn't need to do that anymore!

Our pedals do set to the memory numbers on the side of the seat,so we set the seat and the pedals up for each driver,hit Numbers 1,2,3 and just hit the drivers number from then on,I think the mirrors also have a driver memory as well,and reverse dip function,which is another handy thing

On The BFII Fairmont Ghia, I set it up once for my wife, and don't let her use my keys.
This is a perfect solution ! Now if only the steering wheel reach and tilt, internal rear view mirror, radio volume, and CC Aircon could be linked to the key fob !! |

we loved that feature when we had the BA Ghia a few years ago. The best part was the memory assigned to each key set. I had my set, my wife had her set and the seat, pedals and mirrors all adjusted when we unlocked the car. Auto dip mirror for reverse parking was awesome too. that's probably the thing I miss most on the BF2 XT we've got now.
Are they (the auto-adjusting memory settings) just Ghia features or do other models have it as well? |

I've only just discovered the advantages of adjustable pedals...
The terri is the most comfortable seating position i've had in a long time... Great seat... great adjustments with seat/steeringwheel/pedals... If you can't find a perfect position in a territory - you won't get comfy ANYWHERE... (though the buckets in the XY feel way better than anything i've driven!!!)

Dumba55 question time: are adjustable pedals included in any other "packages" with the FG sedan/utes? Our XR6 has a lot of options (TechPack, SafetyPack, etc), but I'm not sure if it has this? How would I know?

OK heres the thing
My sister got here Territroy in 06 when they were standard I og mine in 07 when they had been deleted as STD equipment and wasnt told by the dealer, I wouldnt need ot use them normaly but man when puting it in to 7seat configuration they are a god send the cost of the option isnt much so GET THEM

Regular basis? You set them once and away you go.
Are they beneficial? Hard to say. Just bought a BF2 Ghia and set them as far as I could to the floor. I have no idea where Ford would have set them and my girlfriend being almost half the height of me (when I eventually let her drive the car) can set them to a higher height, which I am sure will provide a tangible benefit. Would I pay good money to buy them as an option? Probably not. For 20 years I've just dealt with the pedal height, first car I've owned with adjustable pedals and after a week haven't really experienced a benefit. |

The adjustable pedals are better on the LWB models when they are hooked into the seat memory.
It's much better when the seats, pedals and mirrors ALL change when a different driver pressed the keyfob and get's in. The Terry Ghia only gets memory seats (well, that's all we got in our SX). The BA/BF Fairmont Ghia got memory seats and pedals. It's only the BA/BF LWB models that seemed to get Memory Seats, Mirrors and Pedals. I'm still baffled as to why these full-spec features didn't make it into the Territory. Has the combination of all 3 memory components made it into any of the FG models? Lukeyson
