+1 for stock cars,

Way to complicated to mod a car and then tune it to be better.

Much more fun to get a car and have to lap as quick as we can.

Either way doesn't bother me . I liked it better when the cars were stock .
But you wont know if people have fitted sway bar's,drive shafts, flywheel .
If you guys what we can change the challenge its not the end of the world.

cool thread! i'll give it a go tomorrow.. it might actually get me off fifa 10 for a bit!

Are most people using the hand controllers or steering wheels? I prefer the wheel, but i think i'll end up with better times using the controller.. i'll stick with the wheel though, more fun!

If you want another challenge there is also the weekly Forza Timetrials, where the top 10, top 100 and a random 500 or so get prizes like cars and credits.

Currently it's a SAAB 9-3 Turbo X on Maple Valley Reverse, and my best is a 1:48.042.
Out of 1,996 people I am currently 192. I think there's a few areas I could do better but my fingers hurt!

Add my GamerTag, so when I select the friends list in the timetrials, I can see what everyone's times are.
Keep in mind that "uncertified" times will be ranked below all "certified" times. So if you see the little (!) that means your time is uncertified. (if you didn't know)

Gamertag: xrmarto

To get to the time trials, go to Leaderboards > TimeTrials > then pick the first time trial, usually has a star next to it.

Hopefully I'll give the Road America one a shot tomorrow!

I still haven't done the lap myself, will hopefully put a lap in soonish. Though I've been doing the official forza time trial whenever I have had a spare few minutes. trying to get a low 1.47!

That quite a hard time trial you basically need to do the whole circuit without braking .
Im really struggling to keep the saab on the track

The key is to brake more, as if you try to do the whole lap without braking, you tend to slide a lot more and hurt your exit speed out of the corners.

The positive thing I guess with my time is, I have not done a lap yet that I was completely happy with. I will do one corner perfect then stuff another corner, then do another lap with both those corners perfect and stuff another few corners. Tis all in the challenge I guess.

That dude on the top of the leaderboards who cracked a 1.43.9 is a freak. He always seems to be in the top three of the leaderboards for like every track every week.

That time trial is bloody hard, i managed to crack a 1.49.704 but it didn't count as i went onto the grass just in the slightest and got the ! triangle so i'm stuck at 1.50.4 i think.

Which hairpin are you referring to ?

The first place I touch the brake is umm, let me work it out.
You have the 1st left, 2nd left at the top of the hill and kinks to the right for corner 3, the next long sweeping left handed corner, is where i brake in the middle of the corner. But it's still only slightly, just enough to change direction without sliding.

So you're right, there isn't too much braking to be done, but key braking in the right points makes a difference.

The 180 degree turn .
I can get around the whole track without braking allthough lifting the throttle slightly
bar the 180 degree turn at the bottom of the hill .
Problem is its hard an struggle i to do it everywhere in one lap .

I am just about to play Forza for the first time since 08. I just loaded it up and I had been gifted about 30 cars from turn 10.
