1997 Mondeo LX wagon: My A/C only blows onto to windscreen, how do I fix that?

It needs some part that controls the switching between the windscreen and elsewhere (maybe a resistor, I just cant recall the exact name of the part). I had exactly the same issue with my 97 mondeo when I first bought it, cost a few hundred for the dealer to supply and fit the part. May be cheaper getting an auto electrician to fix it, but Ford seemed to know exactly what was causing it and were able to get it fixed same day.

Thanks for the reply.
I was under the impression that the control was vacuum operated, maybe that's a different model?

Maybe it was a solenoid they said they replaced, I can't find the invoice so I can't be sure of exactly what was done. I don't know enough about how they operate to know how to tell if they're vacuum operated or not, sorry .....
