Hi,
My mate from work had some auto troubles with his BA Fairmont on the way home tonight. I suspect it was simply low tranny fluid. He lives in Boronia. Question is Who is reputable near him to take the car to tomorrow? Cheers, GK

He found out what the problem was.
Radiator/Cooler leaked coolant into the auto. He caught it right away though, so they flushed the auto, and he got an external cooler fitted. $680 and the guy reckons he'll have probably nipped it in the bud. GK

My local transmission mob recommend fitment of external cooler for this reason, and they won't fit them in line (no point really - if the radiator lets go and you have an external in line, then you're still up the creek with a buggered auto). For 6 cyl models, go for a V8 cooler if you're bypassing the radiator (or like I did, use 2 x 6 cyl ones), and for V8s, use the V8 one and a 4 or 6 cyl one.
GK - told you those radiators are no good; doesn't matter how many kms the car has done, they are all at risk!
