Default Busted doing Donuts :(

Not quite as it sounds, was at Willowbank today to enter a Guiness World record attempt.
"Most cars doing donuts at one time".
Previous record was 46 in Japan, we aimed for 100.
67 showed up, which was good.
9 didnt do the donut properly for 10 seconds, one of which was probably me.
Started, car stuttered, then straight to 6200, and a bit of a thump in the engine, steering goes heavy, car starts to not be able to be handled. Within a couple of seconds, temperature right up to the top of the hot mark. I just kept going, trying, linking 1-1 and a half doughies together, loosing power, and still mostly doing things uncontrollably. Drove off the track when we were told to stop, and went to the pits.
Popped the bonnet, and the serpentine belt was off, so I borrowed some tools, burnt my arms on the engine which was extremely hot, got it back on, started it up, "POP", straight back off again.
So started checking pulleys, first one, power steering. Cracked right around the base, probably 3/4 of the way around. So as soon as there is pressure on it, it just warps the wheel and throws off the belt.
So, $220 later for a tow truck, and the car was sorted, but as I had one of my kids and wife there, we had no way of getting home, 1 phone call to FS5 (Jake) and he came and picked us up and took us home.
Thanks Jake for the lift, really appreciate it.

So thats my story, cars in the garage awaiting a new power steering pump, serpentine belt, and a tensioner bolt (which is now leaking profusly, <thanks Col, AU2SW for guessing it right>), Ill get it all done tommorow.

Oh, and the record did get broken, 56 I think was the final number that got it right. 2 Commodores caught on fire, one blew up completely and various other cars were completely shagged (35 degrrees doing donuts isnt kind on cars on a sticky, prepared track).

So the blue car DID get busted doing donuts, probably cost me the same as doing it on the street to, but at least I didnt hurt anyone, and it was extremely fun.

Lost of jap cars as you would expect.

Yeah, day went as planned, I done a 200km trip before I got there, so lucky it didnt break a little bit further from home. I deffinately need a supercharger, and have started saving for one.

Worst thing about the day was they opened up QR for people to do burnouts on, with full camera crews, safety cars, fire engines and paramedics, completely free of charge, yet the spectators, when leaving, found it appropriate to do burnouts in the semi gravel car park, like, minutes worth of skids each. People like this ruin things for everyone.

Also, when changing my tyres before I went out, I had the car almost jacked up enough so that the rear tyre was off the ground, once ots off the ground, I would be jack stands under it. But as it just about left the ground, the jack gave way. My three year old was just about to poke his head under too, but I pulled him away, and right then, the jack went. The thread has completely stripped, so its absoloutely dead.
Just a reminder to people, SAFETY FIRST.

That is a Vp/n wagon, cut into the shape of a ute, with 4 doors. Pure burnout spec, was completely nutso.

Also, just been outside having a look at the car, big pool of water under the passenger side end tank, its leaking pretty fluently. Looks to be a fun weekend in front us.

Have my power steering pump, $33 off a taxi, was full of nice clean fluid too, so thats good. My serpentine belt is fine, as I need to release tension to get it on, so its not stretched enough to worry about. Will be trying to get the radiator done tomorow, Im going to let a shop handle that, copper core, Ill just drive it down, only 3km away, so it should be ok, just need to put water in it, lol.

Well, power steering pump is on, serpentine belt is fine, filled up the water, and let it run for a minute, and it ran, and idled fine, no slackness in the belt, topped up the power steering etc etc.
Checked the oil and it was fine, no milkiness or anything, so Im assuming head gasket is fine as well.
Ill be ringing around first thing in the morning for a radiator, if anyone knows of anyone who does Radiators in BEENLEIGH (I cant drive any further obviously), please post in here, or PM me.
Thanks.
