Same as AU to BA...which funny enough is the exact example given by those in the know RE the engineering changes. Launched most likely on the back of the diesel (unless the update is delayed to the point that Ford can put diesel in the current car with minimal issues i.e. launch the diesel in the current car to keep sales momentum and focus on new gearboxes for the petrol model come the update).

"new' territory will be a significant improvement and likely to restablish full dominance in the segment, not that territory is really far behind now anyway....

EA to EF = 6 years
EF to AU = 4 years
AU to BA = 4 years
BA to FG/BF111 = 6 years

And 2015 makes FG to <??> = 7 years

The Commodore, since the VR, has had a major bodywork update every 4 years. So even if they are a couple of years lat, that will still make a major update in about 2012, meaning a new shape Falcon will still be 3 years behind... not good.

You'ld be a fool to think that the Fg will go to 2015 unchanged, it will get a mid life update....

But for the past 17 years the Commodore has had a major bodywork change every 4 years (eg. VX to VY) which means that this year there is one due this year. While the VF will not be a major change, it's still a facelift. So even if the Commodore's major bodywork update is two years late, it will still leave the FG 3 years behind, even if there is a midlife facelift.

The GFC kinda put paid to that. I wouldnt expect the VF until the end of this year, maybe 1st quarter next year.

Huntsman will be out in May this year.

I really dont understand what you are trying to say???

The current FG is light years ahead of the current VE... The next Commodore update (VF, due this year??), will most likely move it infront of FG.. But then the next Falcon (FH, due next year with I4??) will most likely put it infront of the VF Commodroe.. Who cares what happened 17 years ago when comparing which one is better now??

Nope. Huntsman was always FGII.

It then became 123 with the V6, and is now something else entirely.

That's what a mid cycle refresh is. However nothing has been confirmed, you might find it's just a front and rear sheetmetal job with FG interior, it's not like the have a massive budget.
