Default firing order on coils

may be a dumb question but, how do you work out the lead placment on the twin V8 coil packs? of course you take off one lead at a time, however if you were handed the coils and leads how would you work it out?

about 95% sure this is right lol, its bloody hot outside and i only turned my car off bout half hour ago. the way ive bunched the leads up on the passenger side its hard to tell where they go to as there crossed over each other.

the sequence on each side of the motor

drivers side starting from front

1 2 3 4

passenger side starting from front

5 6 7 8

If they are original Motorcraft coils the lead placement is printed on them. Pots 1-4 are drivers side front to back and 5-8 passenger side front to back.

I'll try to chase up the correct coil placement for you.

EDIT: Looks like 5L has sorted it, from memory that looks correct.
