Default Best way to clean dirty windsor engine bay?

Whats the best way to clean my engine bay in my au xr8? My mates decided to take my car for a spin off road when they were drunk : and the end result is red pindan everywhere in my bay! Manifold is basically light coloured red now.... :

Any hints/tips? Apart from maybe getting revenge and driving there VX SS and BA turbs off a cliff

Pressure cleaner. While you're at it, spray a bit of degreaser around too. And don't get the coils wet.

So just spray directly into the bay? What bout the battery? and other electrics or stuff i should avoid? Should i just cover the coil packs up with something?

Nah no need to cover anything up. Just go hell for leather, I do it with mine all the time.

tip 1 ) Hide keys from mates in a reeeely hard place to find.

tip 2) Can go the high pressure way for quick result, but in my book I would go the hard & slow method - i.e. bucket, warm water no detergent and a cupla sponges - I prefer not to have my electrics exposed to high pressure water.

I just sprayed a couple of cans of degreaser - just get the cheap stuff - Aus Export cans are 95c each at the moment at Supercheap & 99c at Autobarn....

Give it 3-4 mins to soak in, then just liberally sprayed the engine bay with garden hose - trigger nozzle set on 'shower' mode....TAKING CARE TO STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTLY SPRAYING WATER ONTO THE COILS OR THE ALTERNATOR!!!

If it's still not clean enough, spray some more degreaser onto the area you want cleaned, and agitate it into the surface with a hard-bristled brush.

Went from this:

To this:

May not look all that different in the photos (the sun is blocked in the first photo; taken on different days)....but you will be suprised at how nicely it comes up with only a little effort!!
