a friend of mine has offered to build me a megasquirt on my hunt for horsepower. has anyone run a megaquirt in an ea-ed before? i wanna run a big cam and i know i need a chip/computer but i cant have my car off the road for days at a time.

im guessin it sounds like extra injector like a micro fueller for a turbo setup?
i dont see how you'd gain much power from it? maybe burn bit of extra fuel? |

its a DIY efi computer, alot of people use them in the US.

are you talking megasquirt (fuel only) or megasquirt2 (fuel + ignition).

I really don't think there would be any benefit on the fuelling side of things unless you were making so much power that your injectors were maxed. It could possibly make a small difference with the ignition but even then it seems a bit crude...the above info says it only has 12X12 (or 24X24 optional) user definable points. Not really enough IMO. Unichip has 128X128 and the full aftermarket ECU's have even more.

i dont want to run boost or anything. just though it would be a good thing to have since the normal eec cant handle very big cams. i really wouldnt be altering much at all. just mixtures and idle things i tihnk.
