My AU is blowing black smoke after reading various forums it seems that the most likely cause is a faulty oxy sensor or map? sensor, I highly doubt its the fuel injectors as the car has only done 120,000km's, anyway is there any way to check whether any of the senors are faulty besides replacing them?

With 120k up if the factory oxy sensor is still there I can near on guarantee that it will be stuffed, even if it isn't the cause of your current issue.

not really something you can check as such. the only way you could is by getting it onto a ford star tester or similar, short of just replacing it with a new one. as far as i am aware, there aren't any aftermarket obd scanners that will show sensor data in real time available for au's. there is one on ebay to check and clear error codes, but that won't show live sensor data.

an oxygen sensor is only rated at 100 000 Ks so it is due for replacement

Get under the car.
Unclip the loom. Undo the oxy sensor. Not sure on the size, but I just use a shifter. Insert and do up new oxy sensor. Clip in the loom. All done If your wondering where the oxy sensor is, it will be on your extractors somewhere, either underneath the car like for the Pacemaker extractors, on one bank for Hurricanes, or close to the heat sheild for the factory one.

A spark plug. Seriously. Its the only thing plugged directly into your extractors.

Mine was pretty tight, or rather, gunked up. I spread a good open-ender trying to undo it. A ringy is best and 22 is the size (7/8 might do). Trick is, the plug won't quite go through the spanner unless you prune it slightly. There's a little loop of plastic that does nothing but get in the way. Off with its head!

yeah, i know that, but you just use the open of the spanner you didn't just destroy by cutting the old plug off,
