You get a nut the turns the opposite way on there first then adjust it upwards so the most you can turn the knob ends up so the numbers are the right way around.

Yeah thats another idea, put something metal in the top of the shifter knob first so it can't screw down so far.

On the Auto's this is what they have. There is a nut that you move up and down so when you screw on the knob it sits in the right place. It should work.

This would be the way to go! It confused the hell out of me when I pulled my EB t-bar off once (before I replaced it). It kept on winding back on about 240 degrees out of whack... Then I realised what the "counter-nut" was for

yhe sure but it looks dicky with the standard gear boot as im making up a grey suede one with "cardinal red" stiching lol. Also is there a little plug or something on the ba's that hold the gearboot to the underside of the bevel under the knob i want that "flush" look if you know what i mean

Hehehehe... too right!

I'm going to have to sand away at the shaft though so I can fit some leather between the knob and the shaft (my my, this is sounding phallic!) for my mAnUaL sTyLeZ boot. Or, I'll "roll" it kind of like a hem so it surrounds the knob, and just glue the sucker on, with the screw that holds the knob to the shaft also being an anchor point for the leather.

Wayne, if you're reading this, I haven't had a chance to chop up your leather! I'm gonna practice on some (crappy, bad coloured) vinyl first mate
