Hey guys, after doing a cam upgrade- when should or can you get a custom tune? Should you wait a week or two and let it settle and not give it alot, before putting it on the dyno? or is it better to get it all put in and then put in on the dyno the next day and get the mixtures and ratios right?

I'd probably go with the latter of the two mate, just to make sure the AFR's are still OK. Only real way to be sure.

Mate, just go tune it lol :-) No need to run them in or anything. Maybe a diff story if it wasnt a hydraulic setup.

Depending on what cam you go with (I'm just bloody glad you're finally doing this instead of making another million threads about it by the way) you may need to get the car tuned asap so it will actually run . I drove my ute round untuned with the new heads and cam for about a month but that was only because I didnt have time to tune it and it wasnt long trips etc.

lol I have driven around with the dev4 for some time now and it runs (sometimes just)
I recommend you get a tune mate..

i drove my xr8 around for about a year untuned with afr heads and an xe270hr. no probs at all , depends how big the cam is.

I put a pretty big cam in my car, it ran for 15 minutes before fouling the plugs/cat/oxy sensor and chewing $20 of ultimate and spitting raw fuelout the exhaust. Moral of the story, get it tuned ASAP.
