Default AU2/3 XR8 Front pods??

I`m really confused..... Are the front pods a standard issue or is it only when the car is optioned with the Tickford kit ??
I found a lot don`t have them on, notice on a lot of Pics on the net (Dont see many on the road to compare) Or is it because owners remove the Pods for road clearance, or they just get damaged and the owner can`t be bothered replacing them?
Cheers.....................

Sometimes, in the case of my car, they became damaged so the previous owner took them off. (I later replaced them myself) But in other cases, they just didn't have them from the factory, because, as you said, they were only fitted if the car was optioned with the Tickford bodykit.

"Pods" are the holes in the front lower bar/spoiler. The XR's have pods/holes in the lower spoiler. These 'pods' can be used to mount spotlights/driving lights in the holes/ or - and also - be use for extra cold intake via pipes from the pods to a modified airbox allowing the two pod intakes into the airbox under the airfilter into the airbox.

I know the part you are referring to. I would have called them "brake ducts".

I have only ever heard the (optional) lower part of the front skirt being called pods.

You are correct my friend, pods are the extensions on the front bar in each corner and were part of the optional Tickford kit.

If anyone ever has any to sell let me know!
