Default Compliance plate question

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has ever "lost" their comliance plate?

Can anything be done by dept of transport ie mod plate or some form of replacement.

The reason I ask is I was talking to a guy tonight who has lost his. Sounds strange I know, but it is definately not on the car. Looks like it has either been stolen or vibrated off???????

Cheers

Sorry mate. The car is an XA falcon, it is currently registered and I have sighted the previous owners rego papers and owner prior to that. Also have sighted RWC that was obtained 2 years ago when the current owner purchased the car. All numbers from these documents match the engraved numbers on the vehicle.

The reason I ask is that I am thinking of buying the car. It is not a GT or even a fairmont, just a standard old XA.

Cheers

Make sure you confirm whatever the answer is with dept transport too.

It may even be worth speaking with the people who deal with written off vehicles as they do some policing against rebirthing and compliance plate issues.
