Default Warranty Shmorranty

hey, i had my falcon taken to Coffee Ford today because my tinting is turning to shit, I checked my booklet when i had the windows done and there is a LIFE TIME WARRANTY with the tinting.

NOW.....
i took the car to ford today because apparently the company that did the tinting has gone bust, and FORD said they will "look at the problem and get it fixed".

After the car sitting at ford all day, they call up and tell me that there is nothing they can do!
WHAT THE HELL DOES A LIFE TIME WARRANTY MEAN?!?!
:
WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?!!!

When the tinting was done, was it done via their 18yo in a tight dress and low cut top, after sales car check out chick?

If so, I would be fighting tooth and nail

Is the warrent 'Ford' or the tinters?

If it's Ford, then they have to fix it!

you bought the car new from them?
you checked the box that said 'tinted windows please'?
if yes they have to fix it. you were buying tint off FORD. its there problem who did the tint for them.
in any case if you paid FORD for the tint (even if the car wasnt new) they have to warranty it regardless.
ring head office and explain it to them.

I agree with davway. The same should go with any other add-on that you do when signing the contract.

At the end of the day, it's the dealership's problem with which other companies they deal with.

mate you bought the car from ford and ordered window tint from ford , therefor lifetime warranty ( CAR ) from ford who paid a company to tint the car and then marked it up and made a prophet on the tinting, and gave it their ford warranty. hope this clarifies things.

I'd suggest you read the warranty manual, it may state something about weather 3rd party fitted accessories are covered by Ford, the dealer or by the accessoiry fitter. I don't think it would take a genius to work out that CRC won't provide the result your after. I think your just going to have to battle it out with the dealer. When the vehicles we send out for tint come back they have a warranty card with them stating the warranty is covered by the company that fitted it & this card goes to the customer. If you ask me you should have had the tint done after purchase to ensure you could get a better deal on tint price & also use a reputable company to carry out the work.
