Default Idea for FORD

Reading the paper yesterday and saw the new Bentley Continental that admittedly is the price of a small house BUT it is pushing out 411kw@6100rpm with a very impressive 650Nm@1600rpm from a 6.0L V12 Twin turbo, i think Ford should seriously look at bringing out a 260 or 290 with a twin turbo as a production car and not something available after market, i sure as sh#t would look at buying one so long as the price tag wasnt the same as the Bentley..

Probably not as much as the Bently...but I reckon you could add another 30/40kto the current top price.
Which given Fords market demographic I don't think will happen.

Yeah, the 6.0litre Twin Turbo W12 in the Bentley Continental GT is a nice engine... but if it was't for VW, they'd never have it. Ford/FPV here only have one chance at a forced induction V8.. the Supercharged DOHC 32v 5.4 from the up-coming SVT Shelby Cobra GT500... which, from what I understand, is going to produce 465hp (347kW) and 495ftlbs (671Nm). That's probably the ideal engine to use if they ever make another GT-HO.

personally i think we should count ourselves lucky we get a factory car with one turbo, let alone a V8 that has two.
not gonna happen, not this year, next year or even this decade.

The idea of most car companies is to sell a lot of cars. A TT V8 however i reckon wouldnt sell as much as there would be few people whod want to buy one when they can get the power they need already. A TT V8 would be for someone who could A) afford to run one and B) is hardcore into cars. The majority of the population however would not be i would expect.

i think fords best bet is to get more power out of the N/A 8's rather than just adding forced induction, and beating holden in the power wars..

i think this because, if they have to go to forced induction to "win" the power war, we basically lose bragging rights. If they can "win" without forced induction, then they are already in front, and any after market forced induction will just increase the lead....

sorry if thats vague, but I know what im trying to say, just a bit hard to word it.
