Default Fiesta Zetec Whining Noise - Solved!!

Hi all!

Just thought I would let you all know that the whining/whistling noise I reported on back in may has been solved by Bayford Preston (VIC). They were starting to get as fed up with me as I was with my car but they persisted and isolated the issue to the gearset in my auto tranny. They replaced the tranny and suddenly, noise gone and the car even performs slightly better.

Seems the noise is an inherent one in the Fiesta auto but only at very low volumes and high speeds (105kmh plus). There was obviously a fault in mine. It's the first Fiesta auto gearbox replacement in Aust so far as they know (at least they had one in the country) and so far, the car is better than new. Thank to you guys for your feedback and tips in trying to sort this out.

Adam.
