Default Cams for ED

hows it goin guys. i got a manual ED 6 running genie extractors to a 2.5" system and was wondering what the best cam would be to run in this setup? and what other things could I do to make it a quick N/A engine?

also, does adding a cam change the sound of the engine revving?

Any info would be great.

Does it change the sound of the car taking off from a drone type noise to a more tuned growl?

yeh the 1636 is just a mild cam mainly used for auto's you can get bigger grinds that will work in a manual but is not recommended for auto's

no way., ill quote from the other thread.

"if u got an auto, stick with the 1636. has bout 148 thou lift. will run no worries. you just need shims. on the other hand, for manuals, go the 977B. no ecu or valve springs required it goes in just like the 1636. and has 256 thou lift. You might wanna bump your idle speed up a little, just to keep it from stalling occasionally. mmmmm lumpy power."
The 977B is the biggest regrind we can do withought startin on billets. then 520 thou is achievable

cheers
scott
