sounds like the valves may need a look at.
could be that the valve seats have worn.

i had an ea a couple of years ago that did a similar thing, mind you that had 280,000+ kms on it so it seems strange that yours is doing it now...has the oil been changed regularly?
to replace valves or at least look at them you have to pull the head off the car, which is a real pita....

just take it to a mechanic or get a service repair book from Autobarn.
if you dont know what your doing and you cant get anyone to help you that does know what they are doing then see a mechanic about it.

Pain the a s s. i reckon it would be air fuel ratio, and it burns the excess fuel. I change my oil occassionally, i use Magnatec. Ive had the car for 25000km's and changed the oil 3-4 times.Very strange one.

The problem your having is its running rich when cold that is all, it could possibly be that your oxygen sensor is not working and is basically telling the car it needs more fuel when it doesnt.

The engine oil smelling like fuel is a dead give away that its overfueling and nothing else. It is basically pumping in so much unwanted fuel that its passing the rings and into the crankcase. This is a problem in itself with so much fuel in there and not needing it it washes away all the oil in the bores and will eventually glase the bores up and will start to use oil. Thats my Opinion.

Shaun.

Another possiblilty could be at least one injector leaking slightly while the engine is not being used but while residual pressure remains in the fuel lines. This would cause a build up of fuel in the manifold/engine for the next cold start.
--- Just another thought, hope it may help.
