King Springs XR8 Height

The springs on my car are too low for my liking. I don't know what they actually are. The guy that sold them to me said they were Series II XR8 springs, but they are not.

I run 235x45/17s. From the top of the wheel arches to the floor I measure 640mm front and 635mm rear. And I scrape - a lot. And it rides too hard for an old fart like me.

I want to get the thing up to XR height, and recover at least some ride comfort.

So I'm looking at these Kings Springs:

Front: KFFL-57
Rear: KFRL-67

Can anybody confirm that these springs are, in fact, XR height and what the actual height from the top of the wheel arches to the floor is when these are fitted.

I'll measure it up tomorrow mate, they're exactly what I just had fitted to my car. As for the comfort option, I got that too, I assume it means they're more comfortable : The ride quality, whilst a little firmer, is still highly comparable to the original Fairmont suspension set-up.

Abacus - those Kings are known as Lows, and are equivalent to XR height, give or take 5 to 10mm. Comfort option means the springs are not as harsh over bumps - the trade off is that they can feel a little "sloppy" when compared to the normal Lows. But still way tighter and better than stock anything springs (apart from stock XR, which are pretty good).

Measured an AU2 XR ute tonight and it's 670 with stocks XR springs in front.

Boge shocks mate. I haven't had a chance to measure the ride height yet, I'll do it when I get home.

Why don't more poeple look at Lovell's springs?

I've had Lovells springs in my last 3 cars and reckon they are heaps better- I had a series 1 XR8 with Kings and a series 2 XR8 with Lovells and I much preferred the ride, handling and look over time with the Lovells- they just seemed to endure time a lot better.

That was just my experience anyway.

The T3 has Lovells in it and sits beautifully.

Yep. 9 coils vs 11 for a Forte in the front, and they certainly look like the IRS rear springs in mine. Bargain at that price.

I have those springs 657mm front 665mm rear almost empty gas tank I reckon last time with full tank was 660mm

I just measured mine, 4 days after installation it's sitting at ~670mm fronts, 680mm rears. That's with King Lows and Boge shocks. It should settle 10mm or so (I hope!).
