Unplug and remove the fans, then have a look at point #3 from this post:

Just remember you need the smaller 3/8" size end, the breaker bar in my socket set is the larger size. You can see in the pic that I'm using a stepdown adaptor. If it wasn't for that extra bit jutting out I probably would have been able to remove the belt without needing to pull out the fans.

As mentioned, draw a diagram of the path...it's a bit complicated. |

Be careful with the 4 bolts that hold the fan shroud in. If you use the longer ones from the bottom in the top, you will punch through the plastic tank and stuff the radiator.
I also like to cut up a piece of cardboard and tape it to the radiator so you don't damage the core if your working on the water pump or something else for an extended period. Just a little bit of insurance if your a hack like me. |

When I removed the fans on my AUIII 'mont there were only two bolts holding them on, and no clips as mentioned here: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...95&postcount=8 |

Arranging the belt from the crank pulley onto tensioner pulley was trckiest part, bit fiddly..
