Top Gear host James May says 'we'll just get new Stig'
From: The Courier-Mail September 04, 2010 12:00AM Top Gear presenters James May and Jeremy Clarkson. Source: The Courier-Mail Top Gear's The Stig is finally unveiled (2 votes) Top Gear's The Stig is finally unveiled The BBC has been refused a court injunction preventing the revealing of The Stig's identity. Views today: 94 THE Stig has won the right to unmask himself but the Top Gear wheels roll on - right over the top of him. A British court this week granted racing driver Ben Collins the right to reveal his identity in his autobiography. The battle cost the BBC £100,000 and Collins his contract. Co-host James May doesn't sound too attached. "It's a bit of a story," he told The Courier-Mail's Fiona Purdon yesterday. "It doesn't make a huge amount of difference. We just get a new one." From this next statement, we conclude the Stig wasn't a fixture at after-work drinks: "Look it up but I think it is Ben Collins who was the Stig driver." Anyway, May says he's a certainty for the next Australian leg of the Top Gear Live show, probably in January or February. At this stage, unconfirmed whispers also suggest BrisVegas might be in the loop. Meanwhile, May has other fish to fry: his book How to Land an A330 Airbus and Other Vital Skills for the Modern Man is out next month
